As we grow older or if we noticed our parents, they usually have this joint pain.
That on-and-off joint pain is often dismissed as a sign of aging BUT that may not be so. We seldom unaware that these symptoms can result from a more serious underlying condition - Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA).
RA is an autoimmune disease that affects both men & women, but more often women & older people. RA happens when the membrane linings of the joint are mistakenly targeted by the body's immune system, resulting in joint pain, swelling & rednesss. The sysmptom is symmetrical - i.e. both sides of the body are affected.
In its most severe form, RA patients may have jpint deformity and develop the risk of osteoporosis and heart problems.
